Meta was advertising Threads on FB!

Yesterday my Facebook app had an update and I started to see threads embedded into my FB feed, but before I could screen grab it an update to the app happened and it has disappeared again. Along with the ads in messenger and the changes to that platform it is obvious to see that Meta is willing to sail as close to upsetting the EU as it possibly can in pursuit of ad money and revenue in general. I have already posted several times about how an ad driven internet cannot survive https://3dcandy.social/2024/03/the-ad-based-internet-is-dying/ but yet Meta seems to still be going down the route of stuffing as many ads in as possible. Practices like this are why I use their products less and less these days and is always cited as why other uses do too!

*EDIT* here is an example of threads adverts in my newsfeed today.
