I am hearing from multiple sources today that Meta has halted plans to train AI using data from the 26th June. The reasons why vary, but it does seem that basically Meta has been told they would be facing legal challenges that would probably signal a ban in the EU and massive fines to boot. I personally always thought this was a step too far for Meta but hey – what do I know?
