Several AMD 9800X3D reviews are in and well it is looking bad for Intel. With recent processor launches being rather lukewarm, it is great to see that at last a new processor is beating out the old models across games AND productivity without costing the earth. Launched at $480 the 9800X3D features 3d v-cache technology with 8cores and 16 threads (remember Intel has binned HT (so 1 core equals 1 thread on the new cpus) and to be fair Intel gets a real beating with this cpu. In games this newer cpu can be 30% faster than Intels best whilsy being a lot more power efficient. Check out the videos below – if anybody needed to know how bad Intel is doing these days these reviews will remind them!
It has been a long, long time since this gap in performance plus better efficiency and price has been on the AMD side. I for one am worried that Intel rapidly becomes a has been in the cpu stakes, something which doesn’t help prices. Let us see what happens as I’m sure Intel is going to lose a shedload of money over its recent cpu launches and the problems with its last generation as well.
