Microsoft copilot review!

My copy of Windows 11 on my work pc has just installed the copilot update. This review isn’t about the security consideration or anything security related and is designed for just the casual user of this new AI service offered by Microsoft.

For a quick video showing some of the things that copilot can do for you – watch the short video below!

I have tried a few things and have been pleasantly surprised by the results. Copilot has a few integrated services like Dall-e 3. You can also add plugins like Suno to get 1 minute AI generated songs.

The command “make a picture of a red panda eating food in a tree” produced 4 examples in around 30 secs and I chose this one as my favourite. Obviously you can customise further, but here is the picture created

I have generated say a couple of dozen pictures and here are 4 examples that I like in a slideshow

The Suno integration quickly produces 1 minute snippets for you – 2 are included below!

Overall I’m inpressed with how copilot makes some nice features easily available for the average Windows 11 user. Privacy and security might be an issue moving forward but for the casual user this is outweighed by the ease of use it brings to the masses. No signing up for accounts etc. is needed as far as I have found, though you get more finely grained controls if you go to the parent website(s) of the platforms and/or services that are integrated
