Today I had the email from Meta about my data being used to train AI. I’m in the UK and I straight away clicked on the link, filled out the opt-out form explaining how I was worried about my privacy and data protection and explaining how Meta had been poor in the past and voila within 5 mins they said they were honouring the opt-out!
Of course it could be because of my being in the UK but I’m quite happy, though to be fair they have been poor previously so the chances of them actually managing this are slim. So, let’s be honest, they may or may not honour it but at least they have replied to say they will in case there is a huge class action lawsuit in the future…
