Instagram getting AI notice now

Following on from the Facebook AI notices I am starting to see that Instagram is getting them now. I can only think that Threads will get them soon as well, with all the ramifications that brings. The cynical me has spoken to a few people now and the general idea seems to be that these notices are a legal thing and that your data has already been sold on and/or used to train AI. This is the first real thing that I can see Meta doing to lose them millions of users and rapidly. Also it will mean that if Threads gets this then most ActivityPub instances will straight away block federation (most do already) and could have a big impact on Mastodon.social which currently does federate. In fact it could easily see mastodon suffer so much that users migrate away in droves…. a slippery slope is a comin!
