This is an interesting development, with Facebook being ordered to stop targeted ads at a UK women. Now if enough people complain legally I can see either ads being stopped in the UK (doubtful) or UK residents being offered the subscription service most of Europe now has to remove ads….
Now this is the fun part – I can see that it could be possible that free ad supported accounts would then technically be illegal in the UK, forcing ALL UK users to pay to use Facebook (and I guess that would be something the UK government would really like) bringing it closer to the end of pervasive free accounts on social media…
